About Rev. Everett
Rev. Everett W. Charters IV completed his MDiv. program at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific and was ordained to the Transitional Diaconate in June 2020. Rev. Everett grew up in Maine and was raised in the Roman Catholic Church. He attended New York University where he graduated with a BA in History. He spent many years working for The Asia Foundation in San Francisco, CA before moving briefly to Oregon before heading to Hawai’i. He eventually returned to Oregon and now lives in Forest Grove. Rev. Everett was Confirmed in the Episcopal Church on December 13, 2015, at St. Gabriel and so it is full circle that he is serving in his first position in ordained ministry with us. On Pentecost Sunday, June 5, 2022 Everett+ was installed as the permanent priest-in-charge at St. Gabriel’s.
Meet Our Lay Ministers
Page has many years of experience teaching and writing curriculum in the Bethany community. She administers our church school, writes and enhances children’s and youth curriculum, and oversees our youth and college ministries with the assistance of Whitney Joshi. She manages children’s outreach opportunities, special events, and pastoral care. Page and Whitney also design and coordinate St. Gabriel Art Camp and “Wonder Wednesday” Storytime and Art Project. Page edits our weekly emailed church newsletter “The Messenger” and manages our social media. Teaching children and creating learning experiences for them fills her up and brings her joy!
Abby is a recent convert from the Roman Catholic Church and comes to St Gabriel by way of Good Samaritan in Corvallis, Oregon. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Abby helped out in the technology booth, often running audio and visual for the 8:00 am worship services. Outside of St Gabriel, Abby is a Research Fellow at the Portland Veterans Health Center and an Assistant Professor at the Oregon Health & Science/Portland State University School of Public Health. Abby and their partner, Gabbi, are excited to be a part of the St Gabriel community!
Gabbi Boyle (pronouns: they/them/theirs) grew up in rural Idaho before coming to Oregon for college. They have since graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Western Oregon University, and a Master’s degree from Oregon State University. Professionally, Gabbi is an educator and facilitator in areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Gabbi currently teaches at Linn-Benton Community College, and also works in Student Leadership at Portland Community College.
When Gabbi is not working, they like to dance! Gabbi enjoys partnered, social dance styles like ballroom and swing dancing. During the pandemic, because dancing wasn’t an option, they got a sewing machine and made over 2000 cloth masks. Gabbi and partner Abby (St. Gabriel’s other senior youth minister) love to take their black lab, Porter, out for walks to explore new areas of Hillsboro.
Meet Our Music Team
Jessica is our choir director and presents special themed worship services and performances at St. Gabriel that include her talented family and friends. She is an accomplished singer, conductor, and educator who has captivated audiences in both jazz and classical music. When not at St. Gabriel, she regularly performs across the region. Jessica continues to offer the congregation incredible music either live or recorded as we have hybrid online and in-person worship.
David is not only our church organist but has also played piano locally for the Oregon Symphony, Portland Opera, Oregon Ballet Theatre, Resonance Ensemble, and been featured on All Classical Portland radio’s “Thursdays at Three.” Past credits involve work in Minnesota with the Guthrie Theater, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, James Sewell Ballet, and in Michigan at the Interlochen Arts Camp. David is a Liberace tribute artist who performs with Jillian Snow Harris (as Liza Minnelli), and Bo Ayars. Together they have performed at Feinstein’s at the Nikko in San Francisco, Broadway Rose Theatre, CoHo Theatre, and Tony Starlight’s Showroom in Portland, and special television appearances in Liberace’s own Las Vegas mansion. David works with Jessica to offer music either live or recorded during our hybrid online and in-person worship services.

Our senior warden Rod MacDow was born on the East Coast and has lived all around the nation and abroad. He has lived in Oregon for 16 years and loves it here. His career was in hi-tech and since retirement, he has worked with a number of non-profit organizations. One of them was St. Gabriel’s Community Garden where, while planting tomatoes, he was invited to be the community representative to the Yew Life Center. Soon, he became a member of the church and has been active here ever since. He became Senior Warden two years ago.
Our junior warden Ginger was born and raised in Portland, and went to Pacific Lutheran University. She was raised a Lutheran, but after marriage became an Episcopalian. Ginger’s career was working as a Medical Technologist from Cheyenne to Biloxi and back to Portland, with her last and favorite job working in oncology. She has two grown children and two grandchildren, and now that she is retired she loves traveling all over the world and going to soccer games. Ginger attended St. Bartholomew’s for many years until she came to St. Gabriel’s, and she plans on staying here. She describes herself as a “church lady”.
