About Rev. Everett

Rev. Everett W. Charters IV completed his MDiv. program at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific and was ordained to the Transitional Diaconate in June 2020. Rev. Everett grew up in Maine and was raised in the Roman Catholic Church. He attended New York University where he graduated with a BA in History. He spent many years working for The Asia Foundation in San Francisco, CA before moving briefly to Oregon before heading to Hawai’i. He eventually returned to Oregon and now lives in Forest Grove. Rev. Everett was Confirmed in the Episcopal Church on December 13, 2015, at St. Gabriel and so it is full circle that he is serving in his first position in ordained ministry with us. On Pentecost Sunday, June 5, 2022 Everett+ was installed as the permanent priest-in-charge at St. Gabriel’s.

Meet Our Lay Ministers

She administers our church school, writes and enhances children’s and youth curriculum, and oversees our youth and college ministries with the assistance of Whitney Joshi. She manages children’s outreach opportunities, special events, and pastoral care. Page is the editor of our weekly emailed church newsletter “The Messenger” and manages our social media. Teaching children and creating learning experiences for them fills her up and brings her joy!

Abby Mulcahy

Youth Minister
About Abby

Abby is a recent convert from the Roman Catholic Church and comes to St Gabriel by way of Good Samaritan in Corvallis, Oregon. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Abby helped out in the technology booth, often running audio and visual for the 8:00 am worship services. Outside of St Gabriel, Abby is a Research Fellow at the Portland Veterans Health Center and an Assistant Professor at the Oregon Health & Science/Portland State University School of Public Health. Abby and their partner, Gabbi, are excited to be a part of the St Gabriel community!

Gabbi Boyle

Youth Minister
About Gabbi

Gabbi Boyle (pronouns: they/them/theirs) grew up in rural Idaho before coming to Oregon for college. They have since graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Western Oregon University, and a Master’s degree from Oregon State University. Professionally, Gabbi is an educator and facilitator in areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Gabbi currently teaches at Linn-Benton Community College, and also works in Student Leadership at Portland Community College.

When Gabbi is not working, they like to dance! Gabbi enjoys partnered, social dance styles like ballroom and swing dancing. During the pandemic, because dancing wasn’t an option, they got a sewing machine and made over 2000 cloth masks. Gabbi and partner Abby (St. Gabriel’s other senior youth minister) love to take their black lab, Porter, out for walks to explore new areas of Hillsboro.

Gene Dietzman

Jr. Warden
Gene Dietzman

Gene is a lifelong Portland resident, a graduate of Portland State, and retired as a partner of Anchor Insurance and Surety. After retirement, he started spending time in his woodshop building furniture for both the house and the church. Some of his most fun and challenging projects were the processional cross and the stand for the chasuble, both made from the old yew tree. Another passion he and Ginger have is travel, both internationally and driving trips through the United States including driving twice to Alaska. He enjoys spending time fixing things at the church.
